More Story Revealed for the Original 3 Characters (Week Four Assignment)

Basic Idea of Story:

The story behind these three characters is that they all meet each other in 10th grade. Adam ended up moving to a new house with his parents, which means he ended up going to a new school. On the first day, he met Jim and Sarah and becomes friends with them. The main parts of the story take place from 10th grade to 12th grade. Throughout their years in high school they make friends with other kids in school, but they also have had made a few enemies as well. Jessica, the cheerleader girl that played the joke on Sarah as the end of middle school, is one of them. As well as Eddie, who is Jessica’s boyfriend and the star player on the football team. One other one is Ben, who is another smart kid at the school who gets mad when Adam beats him at a science fair at school. He almost always won it or came close, so he sets out to ruin him. Over the three remaining years they have in high school, these “rivals” try to get them in trouble, pick on them, etc.

Within the first few months of 10th grade, Adam ends up meeting a fellow classmate Samantha, who he ends up falling in love with. But since he is shy, he has a hard time trying to talk to her sometimes and when he gets to, he can never really talk. By the end of 10th grade, he finally ends up telling her and they end up going out for the next couple of years. Throughout the few years they have in high school, Jim and Sarah start to fall in love with each other by the time they get into 11th grade. But they never really reveal it to each other until they get into the 12th grade.

Throughout their years in high school, the group ends up meeting a lot of people. Ranging from other students, teachers, Adam’s grandfather, the other family members of these three, and a “superhero”. By the end of 12th grade, Ben, Eddie, & Jessica work together to try and “take out” the group. After failing again, they become friends with them. Jessica apologizes for what she did to Sarah, as well as Ben saying he was sorry for trying to get back at Adam and wasting most of his high school life on it. After high school, all three of them end up going to college. Adam and Samantha end up getting married, as well as Jim and Sarah too.

Drawing Squares, Spheres, & Cylinders in Photoshop (Week 4 Assignment)

Creating Dillon for the Western Characters (Assignment 3 for Week 3)

I started creating Dillon, along with the other Western Movie characters, for the Week Two assignments. This was both examples of what the characters would look like and the basic body shapes. For week three, I continued creating Dillon. Here are some more drawings of him and what he would look like. The first couple of pictures are under the Western Movie Characters Drawings for Week Two.

Baker Mascot (Week 3 Assignment)

This is the mascot that we had to create for Baker College. I looked at pictures of robins on the computer to draw the first picture. Then, I drew various comtumes for my mascot. I got the idea for this mascot because of two reasons:
  • Robins are Michigan's state bird
  • Baker college is a college for people looking for Careers

So, this is a mascot that wears different outfits all the time. Each outfit would represent a different career. And since we had to use one of our pictures and edit it in Flash, I decided to take the police officer outfit into it.

So I present to you, Ricky the Career Robin.

Creating Characters with Personality Chapter 2 Questions (Assignment 2 from Week Two))

1.) Using the principles of shape symbolism, what basic shapes will help show off their purpose and personalities in the film?

The basic shapes that would show off Dillon would probably be mainly circles and squares, and probably some triangles. Polly would be mainly circles and triangles, but squares could be used. Brent would be made with mostly triangles and squares. The only circle used would probably be for his head. Grit would be made with mostly squares and possibly some circles. Carrots would be mainly circles, possibly some triangles and squares; Finally, Ruthie could be made with circles and triangles. I don't think squares would be necessary. But in the end, it depends on how they are drawn.

2.) Do they have invidual shapes that delineate their characters?

The individual shapes of character could delineate their characters. The fact that mainly squares could be used for Grit could show him as the big guy. The circles for both Carrots and Ruthie play into the fact that they are animals. It would be weird if they were made with any other shapes. It also shows that Ruthie could have fluffy fur and Carrots could have the average shape of a horse. The circles could show that Polly has the woman figure but those, along with other shapes, could also make her appear tomboyish. The triangles and squares could show that Brent is the rich, fancy type. It could show it has the figure to show he is of high class. As well as show that he has an evil side.
